Job description: OverviewAt Fortescue we are leading the global energy transition by developing a portfolio of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects.Our large scale, low-cost hydropower, geothermal, solar and wind assets will support establishment of green energy and green product industries around the world.Fortescue is committed to building thriving communities by delivering social, environmental and economic benefits.Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Cost Controller requires the knowledge and experience across cost control, project controls, commercial and construction activities.The role is responsible for the adoption and implementation of the cost management system and processes should be able to support the Project Controls Managers in the provision of budget, invoice, and cost forecasting services.This role will be based at our offices in Sandvika, Oslo. There is the ability to work some of the time remotely. Key Responsibilities· Implement the cost management system, processes and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to project cost control, budget tracking, forecasting, cashflow and performance analysis.· Management of the project cost and progress reporting process in order to provide consistent, accurate and timely reporting to the project management team including identification of any required actions to maintain approved baseline targets.· Ownership, oversight, and hands-on participation with key cost functions including:

• Application of the project Work Breakdown Structure to ensure all systems, processes and reporting reflect the standard approach on the projects.
• Support contracting and procurement team with project contracts, purchase orders, project payment certificates review, setup in PIMS and SAP systems.
• Review and verify invoices, establish accruals with supporting documentations before end of month and allocating expenses to cost centres and WBS.
• Forecast cost to complete and highlight areas of risk to mitigate cost overruns against baseline plan and budget.
• Monthly reporting and variance analysis.
• Ensure project change management process (PCN) is utilised diligently on projects.
• Support quarterly capital planning process.
• Progress & performance measurement by applying earned value management (EVM) tools and techniques to interpret data and provide timely insight and recommendations on project performance.
• Evaluate Contractor’s progress payment claims and reconcile with budgets and Contracts.
• Monitor and audit cost management system and SAP to ensure accuracy between the two systems and escalate to management of any significant variances.
• Establish positive working relationships with all parties involved and upholding Fortescue’s values.

Person Specification Experience· At least 5 years project control experience, cost control, economics or business management, preferably including international elements or interfaces· Experience working on the reporting of cost components of small to mid-scale capital projects· Good understanding of project control principle, processes and techniques· Good communication skills, ability to interface with project stakeholders· Experience and proficiency with Omega PIMS cost system, PowerBI, SAP and Visma experience is very beneficial.· Proficient computer skill with advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Office package abilities Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in engineering and commerce/ finance, or equivalent by experience.· Project management or an internationally accredited project controls certification Key Attributes· High level professional communication skills, including written communication.· Outstanding interpersonal skills – ability to interact with a diverse range of people in a professional manner, representing the company.· Excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure project reporting is forward looking and reliable.· Demonstrated ability to operate in dynamic delivery environments.· Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
