Job description: Zem is experiencing a strong increase in demand for our solutions for marine battery systems and electric and hybrid powertrains.We therefore want to strengthen our technical staff with a senior electrical design engineer.As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at ZEM, you will have technical responsibility through all stages of our projects including detailed design decisions in the team, collaboration with suppliers and the shipyard during the installation phase, final commissioning, sea trial and sign-off, as well as handover of the entire system to the end customer.You will work with system architects and software engineers to specify and develop a cohesive system design based on industry standards, best-practice solutions, and existing designs.You will be responsible for electrical cabinet design and technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, bills of materials, electrical calculations, and final acceptance procedures and records.Tasks:Designing and developing electrical system solutionsPerform electrical installation calculationsWrite technical documentationRelease drawing document packs for production and yard installationEnable continuous quality improvement through design reuseDegree in Electrical or Automation Systems10+ years relevant experience working with electrical system designExperience with E3 drawing packageExperience and knowledge in setting up and using component databases, version control and release processesThis position will report to electric team lead Guy Morgan.The candidate we are looking for has experience, and can contribute with, the following:Develop cohesive and reliable solutionsUnderstand and interpret electrical standardsPractical knowledge and experience in risk analysisAnalysis of electrical system characteristics such as 3-phase and DC load, as well as short circuit calculationsTroubleshooting in PLC-based systemsInterpreting and diagnosing both electrical and protocol faultsWriting Formal Documents for Class ApprovalUnderstanding of electrical design and component selectionExperience in the design of analogue, digital and electromechanical PLC interface circuitsDesired qualifications:Education at Bachelor’s or Master’s levelMinimum of 10 years of experience in electrical or automation engineeringExperience with Electrical CAD software (E3) for wiring diagrams and system setupUnderstanding of motor control theory and power electrical design, as well as experience with electrical energy storage systems is a plusExperience in the design and maintenance of projects and component databases for efficient reuse of components and designs is a plus, but not a requirementPersonal qualities:We believe it is an advantage to have the following qualities for this position:Self-propelled and forward-leaning with good work capacityResult-oriented problem solver with attention to detailBe able to work well in a small teamPossess good communication skillsIt is an absolute requirement that the candidate is fluent in both Norwegian and English (written and oral).We can offer:A leading professional environmentPersonal development opportunities in a fast-growing companyGood working environment in bright and modern officesCompetitive conditionsOm bedriftenZEM was established in 2009 by key people from the Norwegian electric car manufacturer THINK.
